Whole School becomes Keepers of Wild Words

The Keeper of Wild Words is a picture book written by Brooke Smith and illustrated by Madeline Kloepper about a woman with altzheimers who makes a list of words she doesn't want to forget. She passes on her favorite wild words to her grand-daughter along with her memories, stories, and associations.


Tying language, through specific words, and memory together in our hearts and minds both reinforces the experiences, personalizing our associations with that word.


The students have been having so much fun sharing their stories, pictures, and nature-themed words with each other this year. Take a look...
